Adjustment of the Sloper Stop

Height Control

1. You will need a 1220 mm (48 inch) straight edge (5). Use the height control to raise the retracted extender above the main screed (4). Place the straight edge on the outside edge of the main screed.

2. Loosen the jam nut for the sloper stop (2). Use the height control (7) in order to lower the extender until trailing edge (6) of the extender touches straight edge (5) .

Slope Control

3. Move the straight edge to the inside edge of the main screed. Use the slope control (8) in order to raise the inside edge or lower the inside edge until the trailing edge of the extender touches the straight edge.

4. Verify that the outside edge of the extender is even with the main screed plate or below the main screed plate. Tighten the bolt for the sloper stop (3) until you feel resistance. Tighten jam nut (2) to a torque of 122 ± 14 N·m (90 ± 10 lb ft).

Adjusting the Pivot

Adjust the pivot for the extender if there is play. Tighten the nut on the pivot for the extender to a torque of 149 ± 14 N·m (110 ± 10 lb ft). Loosen the nut (1) for 3/4 of a full turn. Install a new cotter pin. Do not exceed the torque that is recommended.
