Electric Drive Pump (Prelubrication) - Remove and Install

Removal Procedure


    NOTICE

    Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

    Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.

    Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.



    NOTICE

    Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

    Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.


  1. Turn the power disconnect switch to the OFF position.

  2. Drain the engine oil into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter- Change".

  3. Disconnect hose assembly (1). Disconnect hose assembly (2). Disconnect cable assembly (3).

  4. Disconnect cable assembly (4). Remove bolts (6). Remove brackets (5).

  5. Use two people in order to remove electric drive pump (7). The weight of electric drive pump (7) is approximately 23 kg (50 lb).

Installation Procedure

  1. Use two people in order to install electric drive pump (7). The weight of the electric drive pump is approximately 23 kg (50 lb).

  2. Install brackets (5). Install bolts (6). Connect cable assembly (4).

  3. Connect hose assembly (1). Connect hose assembly (2). Connect cable assembly (3).

  4. Fill the engine with engine oil to the correct level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter- Change".

  5. Turn the power disconnect switch to the ON position.
