Assembly Procedure

    ------ WARNING! ------

    Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.

    Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.

    Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.


  1. Install spring (10) into spring (12).

  2. Install spool (13) into spring (12). Install adapter (14) into spool (13). Install switch (15) into adapter (14). Install the assembly into oil filter base (3). Tighten switch (15) to a torque of 80 ± 10 N·m (59 ± 7 lb ft).

  3. Install sampling valve (9) and nipple assembly (11) into oil filter base (3).

  4. Install spring (5), spring (6), spool (7), and plug (8) into oil filter base (1). Install O-ring seals (4) into oil filter base (1).

  5. Connect oil filter bases (1) and (3). Secure the oil filter bases with bolts (2).

End By:

  1. Install the oil filter (transmission charging). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Oil Filter (Transmission Charging) - Install".
