Description of Change: The carrier and the sun gear have been designed to contain an overlap and an O-ring seal. The overlap and the O-ring seal will prevent the oil from leaking out of the lubrication circuit. This will improve the flow of oil to the planetary bearings. The improved oil flow will make the planetary bearings less susceptible to bearing damage in an overspeed condition.
Adaptable To: The new 267-4607 Carrier is a direct replacement for the former 140-7093 Carrier. The new 267-4606 Sun Gear is a direct replacement for the former 222-2031 Sun Gear. The new carrier, the new sun gear and the new 2J-8163 O-Ring Seal must be installed together. The new carrier, the new sun gear and the new 2J-8163 O-Ring Seal are part of the 140-7003 Transmission Planetary Gp. The new parts can be installed on machines back to the start of production. The new parts became effective in production with the machine JSM240-UP.
The installation of two additional parts is recommended with the three parts that are listed above. Install the new 222-2032 Planetary Gear and the new 222-2033 Planetary Gear .
The new 222-2032 Planetary Gear was a direct replacement for the former 140-7032 Planetary Gear. The new 222-2033 Planetary Gear was a direct replacement for the former 140-7035 Planetary Gear .
The new parts provide a more rugged transmission. The possibility of damage to the transmission from an overspeed condition can be reduced with the installation of the latest version of the 189-0077 Electronic Control Module and the latest version of the 235-0883 Power Train Software Gp. The latest electronic control module and the latest power train software group eliminate the possibility of a variation in the current to the ECPC valve from the ECM.
