When the 121-9270 Gerotor Motor fails in the field, the 122-8503 Drive Link may have failed. If this happened, you must replace the 121-9270 Gerotor Motor .

You can install one 112-9049 Flow Divider Valve to the 142-2310 Front Lines Gp. This will evenly divide the flow of oil to each 121-9270 Gerotor Motor. The controlled flow will ensure that each motor is properly working in parallel operation with the other motor. This will prevent either motor from placing a mechanical load on the second motor. The flow divider valve became effective in production with the machine 7KK365-UP.

Refer to Table 1 and Table 2 for the parts that are needed in order to install the new 112-9049 Flow Divider Valve. Use the following procedure in order to install the new 112-9049 Flow Divider Valve .

    ------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury or death can result from sudden machine movement.

Sudden movement of the machine or release of oil under pressure can cause injury to persons on or near the machine.

To help prevent possible injury, perform the procedure that follows before testing and adjusting the hydraulic and steering system:

    ----------------------

    ------ WARNING! ------

Check valves in the hydraulic system may allow pressure to exist in the hydraulic lines after the engine has been stopped. Pressure must be relieved prior to servicing the components of the hydraulic system. Failure to relieve pressure prior to servicing may result in personal injury.

    NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
