Installation Procedure

Note: Check the O-ring seals, the gaskets, and the seals for wear or for damage. Replace the components, if necessary.

1. Use Tooling (B) and a press to install sleeve bearing (11).

2. Install O-ring seal (10).

3. Apply Tooling (C) to sleeve bearing (11) and O-ring seal (10).

4. Attach a hoist and a suitable lifting device to trunnion (9).

5. Install trunnion (9). The weight of the trunnion is approximately 56 kg (123 lb).

6. Install 16 bolts (8) and the washers. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 530 ± 70 N·m (390 ± 50 lb ft).

7. Attach a hoist and suitable lifting device to rear trunnion support (3).

8. Install rear trunnion support (3) to trunnion (9). The weight of the rear trunnion support is approximately 113 kg (250 lb).

9. Apply Tooling (C) to thrust bearing (7). Install thrust bearing (7).

10. Install plate (6) and ten bolts (5). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 530 ± 70 N·m (390 ± 50 lb ft).

11. Apply Tooling (C) to thrust bearing (4). Install thrust bearing (4).

12. Apply Tooling (D) to the mating surfaces of rear trunnion support (3) and cover (2). Install cover (2), ten bolts (1) and the washers. The weight of the cover is approximately 22 kg (49 lb). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 530 ± 70 N·m (390 ± 50 lb ft).
