内行星齿轮 (4) 在齿圈 (5) 内转动会使内托架 (12) 转动。 内托架 (5) 通过花键与外太阳齿轮 (8) 相连。 内托架 (12) 和外太阳齿轮 (8) 的旋转导致外行星齿轮 (6) 转动。
外行星齿轮 (6) 在齿圈 (5) 的内部转动。 此转动带动了外托架 (9) 和毂 (3) 转动。 轮毂 (3) 的转动将动力传递至链轮段 (11) 和履带上。
终传动中的机油油位通过加注口塞来保持。 随着齿轮的转动，所有组件都会得到润滑油。 齿轮将机油抛洒在所有部件上（飞溅润滑）。
