Leveling System

Usage:

522 522
The 522 Track Feller Buncher and the 532 Track Feller Buncher are equipped with a leveling system.

The leveling system is used for cutting applications on steep slopes. The system levels the cab for this type of application. The system improves the stability of the machine.

The cab on the machine can be tilted to the left or to the right. The cab can be tilted forward or backward.

The leveling system contains the following components.

  • Side leveling control valve

  • Forward leveling control valve

  • Forward level cylinder

  • Side level cylinders

The control valves for the leveling system are mounted in the travel control valve.

The cylinders are mounted on the frame.

The leveling system is controlled by the left joystick and the right joystick inside the cab. The buttons on the left joystick regulate the LEFT LEVEL or the RIGHT LEVEL function. The buttons on the right joystick regulate the FORWARD LEVEL or the BACKWARD LEVEL function.

When the operator presses the button for LEFT LEVEL, a signal is sent to the IQAN control system. The IQAN control system sends a signal to proportional solenoid valve (2) .

Pilot oil supplied by the pilot hydraulic system flows through line (A) through the proportional solenoid valve to side leveling control valve (5). The spool of side leveling control valve (5) shifts allowing pump oil from the travel pump to flow from line (B) through side leveling control valve (5) and swivel (8) to counterbalance valves (12) of side leveling cylinders (11) and (13) .

Pump oil also flows into the circuit for the signal pressure. The signal limiter valve limits the pressure in the signal circuit. The pressure setting of the signal limiter valve controls the maximum signal pressure to the travel pump. The pressure setting is adjustable.

The pump oil flows through counterbalance valves (12) to the rod of side level cylinder (11) and to the head of side level cylinder (13).

Return oil flows from the head of side level cylinder (11) and from the rod of side level cylinder (13) through counterbalance valves (12). The return oil flows through side level control valve (5) through line (C) to the oil cooler. The return oil flows from the oil cooler to the hydraulic tank. The cab will level to the LEFT position.

When the operator presses the button for RIGHT LEVEL, a signal is sent to the IQAN control system. The IQAN control system sends a signal to proportional solenoid valve (2) .

Pilot oil supplied by the pilot hydraulic system flows through line (A) through the proportional solenoid valve to side leveling control valve (5). The return oil flows from the oil cooler to the hydraulic tank. The cab will level to the FORWARD position.

When the operator presses the button for BACKWARD LEVEL, a signal is sent to the IQAN control system. The IQAN control system sends a signal to proportional solenoid valve (3) .
