Track Feller Buncher

The track feller bunchers are available in three models.

  • 541 Track Feller Buncher

  • 551 Track Feller Buncher

  • 552 Track Feller Buncher

The module discusses the features and the operation of the hydraulic system. In addition, the major electrical components and the hydraulic components are discussed.

The track feller bunchers are a swing to the tree type of feller buncher.

The 552 Track Feller Buncher is equipped with a system that levels the upper structure of the machine.

The track feller bunchers are designed to accommodate three different heads:

  • A felling head

  • A harvester head

  • An intermittent saw

The track feller bunchers are equipped with a load sensing hydraulic system. The hydraulic functions are controlled by the electrohydraulic system.

Electrical

The track feller bunchers have the following electrical features:

  • Advanced Diesel Engine Management ADEM III (electronic engine control module)

  • IQAN programmable control system

  • Electric pump (hydraulic oil filler)

  • Electric operated hood

  • Two speed switch (travel)

  • Medium speed switch

  • Reversing fan switch (if equipped)

  • Control for the engine preheater (if equipped)

  • Switches for leveling system (if equipped)

  • Proportional solenoid (control valves)

  • Stop button (saw)

ReferenceFor more information on the electronic control module (ECM), refer to Troubleshooting, SENR9806.

ReferenceFor more information on the operation of the hood, refer to Systems Operation/Testing and Adjusting, "Location of Hydraulic Components".

ReferenceFor more information on the control for the engine preheater, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual.

Hydraulic

The track feller bunchers have the following hydraulic features:

  • Leveling system (if equipped)

  • Implement control valve

  • Pilot hydraulic system

  • Travel control valve

  • Saw pump (felling head)

  • Hydraulic cooling fan (if equipped)

  • Intermittent Saw (if equipped)

ReferenceFor more information on the leveling system, refer to Systems Operation/Testing and Adjusting, "Leveling System".

ReferenceFor more information on the implement control valve, refer to Systems Operation/Testing and Adjusting, "Main Control Valve".
