Description of Change: A socket setscrew is now used in the end of the spools in the hoist control valves for the listed machines. The socket setscrew replaces the former plug. The socket setscrew improves the reliability of the hoist control valve in maintaining the position of the spool.

Note: If the position of the spool is not maintained, a flow of hydraulic oil in the hoist control valve can result even though the hoist system is not in operation. This flow of oil will cause the pump for the hydraulic system to continue a flow of hydraulic oil to the tank via the hoist control valve and result in the overheating of the hydraulic oil in the hoist system.

A 013-9041 Socket Setscrew replaces former 222-4737 Plug (1) for use in the end of spool (2) in the hoist control valves on the listed machines. For the part numbers of the affected hoist control valves, refer to Table 1.

The 013-9041 Socket Setscrew is effective on 725 (S/N: B1L550-UP), 730 (S/N: B1M468-UP) and 730 EJECTOR (S/N: B1W186-UP).

The 013-9041 Socket Setscrew is a direct replacement to the former 222-4737 Plug on all earlier machines that are listed. When you install a 013-9041 Socket Setscrew, first apply 154-9731 Thread Lock Compound to the threads of the socket setscrew.
