Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove the hydraulic tank. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic Tank - Remove".

Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before you begin the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the components should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism. Precision components can be damaged by contaminants or by dirt. Perform disassembly procedures on a clean work surface. Keep components covered and protected at all times.

1. Remove eight nuts (2) and two covers (1) .

2. Remove locknut (9) and washer (6) .

3. Remove retainer (5) .

4. Remove O-ring seal (8) from retainer (5) .

5. Remove element (3) .

6. Remove taperlock stud (4) .

7. Remove O-ring seal (7) from cover (1) .

8. Remove 62 bolts (10) and the locknuts.

9. Install Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to cover (11). The weight of cover (11) is approximately 43 kg (95 lb).

   Note: The weight of tank (12) is approximately 59 kg (130 lb).

10. Remove two bolts (13) and sight gauge (14) .

11. Remove grommet (18), glass (17), plate (16) and two O-ring seals (15) from sight gauge (14) .

13. Remove two nuts (21) and adapter (22). Remove the O-ring seal from adapter (22) .

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force. Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment. Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.

22. Remove two bolts (38), flange (37), tube (36), spring (35) and valve (34) from filter base (32) .
