Cover plates for hydraulic motors are now serviceable. The cover plate is a safety device which will bow if an overpressure is created inside the motor case. If this problem occurs it will be necessary to replace the cover plate and the O-ring seal. Refer to the following table for part numbers.

The new 296-8031 Cover Plate is a direct replacement for the 279-0656 Cover Plate for the PC206. The new plate is 8 mm (0.3150 inch) thick in order to withstand pressure that is caused by the rise in ambient temperatures in some areas.

Note: A failure of the cover plate is normally due to damage of the case drain line. The case drain line or hydraulic couplers on the work tool may be blocked. The case drain line may be flattened. The case drain line may not be connected to the host machine. All of these conditions should be investigated in order to avoid a repeat failure.
