Alternator and Air Conditioner Belts | |
Check the condition of the alternator belts and of the air conditioner belt. Replace the belts if the belts are worn or damaged.
Note: Always replace the alternator belts as a set even if only one belt is worn or damaged.
Check the tension of the alternator belts and of the air conditioner belt. The belts should not deflect by more than 10 to 15 mm (0.40 to 0.60 inch).
To adjust the belt tension, loosen the locknut on the adjusting bracket and slide the bracket until the proper belt tension is reached. Then, tighten the locknut.
