Description of Change: New software is being used that improves the function of the Oil Renewal System (ORS). The new software allows the ECM to correctly read the data for the fuel level from the Caterpillar Monitoring System. Table 1 lists the part numbers for the new software and the application of the new software.

The correct display panel is required in order to send the data for the fuel level to the engine ECM. The AFS and the AGC machines will have the proper display panel. The panel will need to be checked for the proper part number on the 5ER and the 3PR machines.

Adaptable To: The 160-6567 Unprogrammed Electronic Control Module or newer is the required display panel for the ORS to function properly. The 5ER and the 3PR machines require an upgrade to the 160-6567 Unprogrammed Electronic Control Module in order for the ORS to function. When a field upgrade is made on 5ER or 3PR machines, check the following:

• The code for the wiring harness (34) will not change.

• The 265-6874 Software Group or a newer version must be used.

Serial number effectivity for the 776D is (S/N: AFS00097-UP). Serial number effectivity for the 777D is (S/N: AGC01579-UP).
