Certain conditions must exist in order to engage the high flow auxiliary circuit for the listed machines.

High Flow (Boost Flow)

High Flow (Boost Flow) is provided as an option for the auxiliary hydraulic system for 226B, 242B, and 257B machines. In order to engage this hydraulic function, the following conditions must exist.

  • The ECM must be flashed with the appropriate software. Use the latest software that is released for your machine.

  • The ET configuration screen must contain the correct Product Sales Model and the Auxiliary Hydraulic Boost Flow System Installation Status must show "Installed".

  • The 133-9931 Jumper Assembly must be installed in connector RA-C3 on the harness for the right joystick control.

  • When you utilize an "A-Series" work tool or a "B-Series" work tool without an electrical harness, the 241-3763 Plug As (Jumper) must be inserted in the work tool harness connector. An "A-Series" work tool that utilizes an electrical harness must use the 225-8014 Work Tool Harness As in order to connect to the work tool harness connector on the lift arm.

  • The rocker switch for the Auxiliary Hydraulic Mode must be actuated by pressing the left side of the switch.

  • The thumb wheel that is located on the right joystick must be actuated for full range of flow (0 to 26 gpm).

High Flow XPS

High Flow XPS is the auxiliary hydraulic system that is provided on 248B and 268B machines. In addition, High Flow XPS is available as an option on 287B (S/N: ZSA1405-UP) machines. In order to engage this hydraulic function, the following conditions must exist.

  • The ECM must be flashed with the appropriate software. Use the latest software that is released for your machine.

  • The ET configuration screen must contain the correct Product Sales Model.

  • The 224-0744 Pressure Switch must be installed in connector RA-C3 on the harness for the right joystick control.

  • The rocker switch for the Auxiliary Hydraulic Mode must be activated by pressing the left side of the switch.

  • The thumb wheel that is located on the right joystick must be rolled to the position of full actuation. This hydraulic function only engages at full actuation of the thumb wheel.

The operation of a High Flow XPS machine will not be satisfactory if the ECM is configured incorrectly. If a High Flow XPS machine provides high flow capability but not high pressure capability, there is a possibility that the ECM is configured incorrectly as a "High Flow (Boost Flow)" machine and the "boost flow system" is enabled. In order to correct this situation, perform the procedure that is provided below. Refer to Illustration 1.

  1. First, change the Product Sales Model on the ET configuration screen to 226B, 242B, or 257B.

  1. Then, disable the "boost flow system" so that the Auxiliary Hydraulic Boost Flow System Installation Status shows "Not Installed".

  1. Finally, change the Product Sales Model to the correct model of your High Flow XPS machine (248B, 268B, or 287B).
