Turbocharger Heat Shield

Usage:

Remove And Install Turbocharger Heat Shield

1. Drain coolant from the radiator to a level below the turbocharger.

2. Remove six bolts and two shield assemblies (3). Remove two braces (1) and (2) from the shield.

3. Disconnect water lines (4) and (5) from the shield.

4. Remove three bolts (6) that fasten the turbocharger shield to the aftercooler.

5. Remove two water lines (7) and (9) from the shield.

6. Remove four bolts (8) from the shield.

7. Fasten a hoist to the shield as shown and remove from the machine. The weight of the shield is 43 lb. (20 kg).

8. Install three bolts (6) in the shield. Put the turbocharger shield in position on the engine.

9. Install four bolts (8) that fasten the turbocharger shield to exhaust manifold shield. Connect water lines (7) and (9) to the shield.

10. Tighten three bolts (6). Install two braces (1) and (2). Connect two water lines (4) and (5) to the shield. Install two shields (3) on the turbocharger shield with six bolts.

11. Fill the radiator with coolant. See the MAINTENANCE GUIDE.
