Aftercooler Housing

Usage:

Remove Aftercooler Housing

start by:

a) remove air cleaner housings

b) remove turbocharger heat shield (if so equipped)

1. Drain the coolant from the radiator to a level below the aftercooler. Loosen the clamps (1) that hold air elbows to aftercooler housing. Move the clamps away from aftercooler housing.

2. Remove the bolts that hold tubes (4) to aftercooler housing. Remove bolts (3) that hold tubes (4) to flywheel housing. Remove the tubes.

3. Remove bolts (2) that hold aftercooler housing to flywheel housing.

4. Remove the bolts (5) from top of aftercooler housing.

5. Fasten a hoist to the aftercooler housing.

6. Remove aftercooler housing from engine. Weight of aftercooler housing is 260 lb. (118 kg).

Install Aftercooler Housing

1. Fasten a hoist and put the aftercooler housing in position on engine.

2. Install the bolts that hold aftercooler housing to flywheel housing.

3. Put the tubes (1) in position on flywheel housing. Install the bolts that hold the tubes to aftercooler housing and the flywheel housing.

4. Put the clamps (2) that hold air elbows to aftercooler into position. Tighten the clamps.

5. Fill the radiator with coolant. See the MAINTENANCE GUIDE.

end by:

a) install air cleaner housing

b) install turbocharger heat shield (if so equipped)
