(1) Lubricate the sealing lip of the buffer seal assembly lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

(2) Lubricate the sealing lip of the U-cup seal lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

(3) Lubricate the sealing lip of the wiper seal lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

(4) Before assembly, apply 4C-4032 Bearing Mount Compound to the wiper seal groove.

Note: After assembly, the sleeve bearings must not extend beyond either surface of the cap assembly.

(5) 9R-0153 Sleeve Bearing

Outside diameter ... 58.082 ± 0.013 mm (2.2867 ± 0.0005 inch)

(6) Torque for the bolt ... 1800 ± 200 N·m (1320 ± 150 lb ft)

Note: Before assembly, lubricate the threads of the head with clean grease.

(7) Torque for the head ... 600 ± 130 N·m (440 ± 95 lb ft)

Note: After assembly, the sleeve bearings must not extend beyond either surface of the eye in the rod assembly.

(8) 9R-0321 Sleeve Bearing
