Parking Brake - Assemble

- Install bolt (16) into torque plate (5) .

- Install torque plate (4) onto bolt (16) and torque plate (5) .

- Apply a thin coat of Tooling (A) to ball bearing (20). Install ball bearing (20) onto cam ring (21). Install cam ring (19) onto ball bearing (20) .

- Install boot (18) and boot (17) onto cam assembly (15) .

- Slide cam assembly (15) over bolt (16) and onto torque plate (4). Make sure that you align the dowels on cam assembly (15) with the dowel holes in torque plate (4) .

- Align the dowel holes in lever (14) with the dowels on cam assembly (15). Install lever (14) into position. Refer to illustration 7 for the correct position. Install thrust (13), washer (12), washer (11), nut (10) and nut (9) .
Note: Nut (10) and nut (9) can only be adjusted when the parking brake is installed on the machine. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Parking Brake - Install" for the correct adjustment procedure.

- Install seals (6) between torque plate (4) and torque plate (5). Install sleeves (7) and nuts (8) onto bolts (3). Apply a thin coat of Tooling (A) onto sleeves (7) before sliding bolts (3) and sleeves (7) into torque plates (4) and (5) .

- Nuts (8) can only be adjusted when the parking brake is installed on the machine. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Parking Brake - Install" for the correct adjustment procedure.
- Install lining assemblies (2) into the parking brake.

- Install retaining spring (1) .

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force. Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment. Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force. |
End By: Install the parking brake. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Parking Brake - Install".
