Machine Operating Temperature Range. The standard machine configuration is intended for use within an ambient temperature range of -40 °C (-40 °F) to 50 °C (122 °F). Special configurations for different ambient temperatures may be available. Consult your Caterpillar dealer for additional information on special configurations of your machine.
Reduce engine speed when you maneuver in tight quarters or when you break over a rise.
Select the necessary gear range before starting downhill. Do not change the speed range while you go downhill.
Use the same speed range for downhill travel that would be use for uphill travel.
- Adjust the operator seat.
- Fasten the seat belt.
- Select the desired gear range.

- Pull upward on the parking brake knob in order to release the parking brake.

- Position the throttle control to full throttle and lock the throttle control into the full position.
- Move the directional control lever into the desired direction.
