Service engine lamp - The service engine lamp flashes a specific number of times in order to indicate active diagnostic flash codes.

Engine overspeed lamp - The engine overspeed lamp indicates that the engine speed has exceeded the maximum safe rpm.

Throttle backup switch - The throttle backup switch provides a throttle signal if the throttle position sensor fails.

High coolant temperature lamp - The Electronic Control Module (ECM) signals the EMS when high coolant temperature is detected by the coolant temperature sensor.

Air filter indicator lamp - The air filter indicator lamp indicates that the air filters may be blocked or that something is restricting air intake to the engine.

Diagnostic enable switch - The diagnostic enable switch enables the service engine lamp to flash active diagnostic flash codes.

Engine oil pressure lamp - The engine oil pressure lamp indicates a low oil pressure. The ECM signals the EMS when low oil pressure is detected by the oil pressure sensor.

Vital Information Management System (VIMS)

Note: The VIMS module is offered as an attachment.

The VIMS module receives information on engine parameters and on engine diagnostic codes from the engine's ECM. This information is transmitted over the CAT Data Link. The information can be viewed on the VIMS message center. Refer to the service manual for the VIMS for further information.
