Description of Change: Two new gas inlet housings are used on the turbochargers for the 3600 Family Of Engines. The new gas inlet housing assemblies are a two-piece design with a 24-bolt flange. The new 4P0300 Flange (used in both housing assemblies) has an improved sealing lip that will reduce the leakage between the flange and the 7E9691 and 7E9700 Inlet Housings.
Adaptable To: For the 3606 and 3612 Engines, the new 4P0308 Inlet Housing Assembly is a direct replacement for both the 4W8685 and 7C9394 Inlet Housings (both canceled). The 7E9700 Inlet Housing is used in both the 7C9394 Inlet Housing and the 4P0308 Inlet Housing Assembly.
For the 3608 and 3616 Engines, the new 4P0309 Inlet Housing Assembly is a direct replacement for both the 7W5167 and 9Y7101 Inlet Housings (both canceled). The 7E9691 Inlet Housing is used in both the 9Y7101 Inlet Housing and the 4P0309 Inlet Housing Assembly.
These changes are effective with 3606 (8RB401), 3608 (6MC293), 3612 (9RC82), and 3616 (1PD42) Engines, and adaptable to all earlier engines.
To repair leaks on earlier 3608 and 3616 turbochargers, the parts listed in the chart and the 7E9691 Inlet Housing from an earlier 9Y7101 Inlet Housing can be used. For repairing leaks on the earlier 3606 and 3612 turbochargers, the 7E9700 Inlet Housing from an earlier 7C9394 Inlet Housing and the parts listed in the chart can be used.
