A New Electronic Hour Meter Is Now Used for Certain Marine Engines {7478}

Description of Change: A new service meter kit is now used for the engines that are listed above. The new hour meter has improved torque retention and is more durable.
Adaptable To: The new 362-0288 Service Meter Kit is a direct replacement for the former mechanical 9W-1494 Service Meter Kit on the 124-5775 Service Meter Gp and the 163-7361 Service Meter Gp. The new 362-0288 Service Meter Kit is adaptable back to first production of the engines listed above.

- Remove the existing hour meter.
- Connect the appropriate leads from the existing wiring harness to connections (1) and (2) on the rear of the meter. Refer to the appropriate engine electrical schematic in the Service Information System (SIS) for additional details.
Note: Connection (3) on the new hour meter is not used.
- Install meter in engine mounting location.
