  1. Disconnect tube assembly (1) . Remove gasket (2) .

  1. Loosen clamp (6) and position tube assembly (1) out of the way.

  1. Disconnect flame detection temperature sensor (3) .

  1. Disconnect cable assembly (4) and disconnect cable assembly (5) .

  1. Remove tube assemblies (7) , tube assembly (8) , tube assembly (9) . Disconnect tube assembly (10) and (11) and plug with Tooling (A) .

  1. Remove nuts (17) and spacers (16) .

  1. Remove combustion head (15) .

  1. Remove gasket (14) and remove tube assembly (13) .

  1. Remove gasket (12) .

NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.



NOTICE

Note: Check the O-ring seals, the gaskets, and the seals for wear or for damage. Replace the components, if necessary.

    Note: The gaskets are for one time use. Replace with new gaskets upon installation.

  1. Install gasket (12) and install tube assembly (13) .

  1. Install gasket (14) and install combustion head (15) .

  1. Apply Tooling (B) onto the threads of the studs and nuts (17) . Install spacers (16) and nuts (17) . Tighten nuts (17) in a crisscross pattern to a torque of 23 ± 3 N·m (17 ± 2 lb ft). Tighten nuts (17) again in a crisscross pattern to a torque of 28 ± 7 N·m (21 ± 5 lb ft). Tighten nuts (17) again in a crisscross pattern to a torque of 28 ± 7 N·m (21 ± 5 lb ft).

  1. Connect tube assembly (11) . Tighten tube assembly (11) to a torque of 11 ± 3 N·m (97 ± 27 lb in).

  1. Connect tube assembly (10) . Tighten tube assembly (10) to a torque of 17 ± 3 N·m (150 ± 27 lb in).

  1. Connect tube assembly (9) . Tighten tube assembly (9) to a torque of 16 ± 1.5 N·m (142 ± 132 lb in).

  1. Connect tube assembly (8) . Tighten tube assembly (8) to a torque of 11 ± 1 N·m (97 ± 9 lb in).

  1. Connect tube assemblies (7) . Tighten tube assemblies (7) to a torque of 11 ± 3 N·m (97 ± 27 lb in).

  1. Connect cable assembly (5) and connect cable assembly (4) .

  1. Apply Tooling (B) to the threads of flame detection temperature sensor (3) . Connect flame detection temperature sensor (3) . Tighten flame detection temperature sensor (3) to a torque of 45 ± 5 N·m (33 ± 4 lb ft).

  1. Install gasket (2) and connect tube assembly (1) .

  1. Tighten clamp (6) .

  1. Check the coolant level. If necessary, fill the cooling system with coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance, "Refill Capacities" for the cooling system capacity.

  1. Perform the ARD ignition test. Refer to Troubleshooting Manual, "ARD Ignition - Test".
