Stator Winding Continuity Test
- Connect the multimeter leads between each combination of two stator leads (2) : (A to B), (B to C) and (C to A). Make a note of each measurement.
- The three measurements should be approximately 0.063 ohms.
- Replace the stator (1) if any of the measurements are incorrect. If a measurement is too low, the stator (1) is shorted. If a measurement is too high, the stator (1) is open.
Stator Winding Ground Test
- Set the multimeter to the 20 M ohm resistance scale. Measure the resistance between each stator lead (2) and the stator frame (3) : (A to 3), (B to 3) and (C to 3) .
- Each measurement should be greater than 100 K Ohms(0.100 M Ohms).
- If any of the three measurements are low, the stator (1) is shorted to the stator frame (3). Replace the stator if a short is measured.
