Fuel Metering Valve

Probable Causes

  • Low battery voltage

  • Internal binding of the fuel metering valve

Recommended Actions

Low Battery Voltage

Check the battery voltage at the fuel metering valve. Refer to Troubleshooting, "Electrical Power Supply".

Repair the circuit, if necessary.

Internal Binding of the Fuel Metering Valve

Shut off the fuel supply. Disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel metering valve. Visually inspect the internal mechanism of the valve. Check for binding due to dirt and/or contamination. Check for binding due to wear of internal components.

Clean the valve, if necessary. If the valve is binding due to wear of internal components, refer to the literature that is provided by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of the valve.
