CID 0711 FMI 12 Solenoid Valve (Auto Retarder Control) Failed - Test

Usage:

769C 01X

  • CHECK FOR RELATED DIAGNOSTIC CODES.

    1. This fault is recorded when the valve which is part of the control solenoid is malfunctioning. The ARC determines the fault by reading the absence of retarder pressure and auto retarder pressure. The pressure is missing when the control solenoid and the supply solenoid are energized.

    1. Check for a diagnostic code that is related to the problem. The related diagnostic codes are listed:

      • CID 0710 FMI 05

      • CID 0711 FMI 05

      • CID 0714 FMI 03

      • CID 0715 FMI 03

      Expected Results: There are NO other related diagnostic codes.

      Results:

      • OK: There are NO other related diagnostic codes that are present. Proceed to 2.

      • NO: There are other related diagnostic codes. Exit this procedure and perform the other related diagnostic codes.

    1. CHECK THE FUNCTION OF THE SOLENOID.

      1. Check for proper air supply pressure.

      1. Check for a plugged manifold in the automatic retarder valve.

      1. Check for a stuck control solenoid.

        Expected Result: The solenoid is functioning correctly.

        Results:

        • OK: The function of the solenoid is correct. Watch for a recurrence.

        • NO: The solenoid is NOT functioning correctly. Replace the solenoid. Verify that the new solenoid corrects the problem. STOP.
