(1) On the 154-3993 Grill, the two hinges must be clean and free of rust. The two hinges must be free of paint. All threads must be clean and free of rust. All threads must be free of paint.
(2) Torque for the one 2K-4973 Locknut ... 50 ± 10 N·m (37 ± 7 lb ft)
(3) Before assembly, apply 4C-4032 Bearing Mount Compound to the threads. Torque for the two 8T-2444 Ball Studs ... 28 ± 7 N·m (21 ± 5 lb ft)
(4) Torque for the two 8T-4137 Bolts ... 60 ± 12 N·m (44 ± 9 lb ft)
(5) Install the 142-8814 Damper with the rod end upward. No paint or foreign material is allowed on the rod.
Closed length of the damper ... 213 mm (8.4 inch)
Extended length of the damper ... 298 ± 2 mm (11.73 ± 0.08 inch)
Operational temperature range ... -30 °C to 80 °C (-22 °F to 176 °F)
(6) Install the 159-9790 Gas Spring with the rod end downward.
Closed length of the gas spring ... 317 mm (12.48 inch)
Extended length of the gas spring ... 512 mm (20.16 inch)
Operational temperature range ... -30 °C to 80 °C (-22 °F to 176 °F)
Force of the gas spring ... 1100 ± 55 N (247.29 ± 12.36 lb)
(7) After installation, the operation of the 152-1042 Lock must be possible. Also, the access and operation of the door latch must be possible.
(8) Torque for the 8T-5004 Screw ... 5 ± 2 N·m (44 ± 17 lb in)
(9) Torque for the three 5C-7261 Nuts ... 6 ± 1 N·m (53 ± 8 lb in)
