Start By:

  1. Remove both hoist cylinders. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hoist Cylinder - Remove".
  2. Remove two hoses from the counterbalance valve on the tailgate cylinder. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Counterbalance Valve (Tailgate) - Remove".

  1. Disconnect electrical connections (3) .

  1. Remove bolts (2), the nuts and washers.

  1. Remove lights (1) .

  1. Remove bolts (4), the nuts, the bushing and the washers.

  1. Use four protective sleeves (7) in order to attach four lifting slings (6) to dump body (5). Apply sufficient tension to lifting slings (6) in order to relieve the pressure on pin assemblies (8) .

  1. Use two 3/4 - 10 NC forcing screws (9) in order to remove pin assembly (8) .

    Note: If there are shims between the hoist pivot and the pivot bracket, note the location of the shims for assembly.

  1. Repeat Step 6 for the opposite side of the dump body.

  1. Remove dump body (5) with lifting slings (6) and a suitable lifting device. The weight of dump body (5) is approximately 3764 kg (8298 lb).
