Main Control Valve - Disassemble

Usage:

836G 7MZ

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the main control valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Main Control Valve - Remove" for the machine that is being serviced.

  1. Clean the outside of the main control valve prior to disassembly.

  2. Support the main control valve on a suitable table for disassembly. The weight of the main control valve is 45 kg (100 lb).

  3. Remove plug (2), O-ring seal (3), spring (4) and valve (5) from body (1).

  4. Drain the oil from the main control valve into a suitable container.

  5. Remove bolts (7).

  6. Remove manifold (6).

  7. Remove O-ring seals (8).

  8. Remove plugs (9), and the O-ring seals.

  9. Remove relief valve (10), relief valve (11) and check valve (12).

  10. Disassemble relief valve (10).

    1. Remove O-ring seal (13) and O-ring seal (14).

    2. Remove cap (21) and O-ring seal (15).

    3. If necessary, loosen locknut (19) and remove retainer assembly (18).

    4. Remove plate (17).

    5. Remove dowel (20), spring (22) and valve (23).

  11. Remove O-ring seal (24), O-ring seal (25) and O-ring seal (26) from relief valve (11).

  12. Remove O-ring seal (27) and O-ring seal (28) from check valve (12).

  13. Remove plug (29) and the O-ring seal.

    Note: Mark the location of the solenoids and the actuators for assembly purposes.

  14. Remove four bolts (31).

  15. Remove solenoid (30).

  16. Remove hidden O-ring seal (32).

    Note: The disassembly is identical for both solenoids.

  17. Remove two bolts (34).

  18. Remove actuator (33).

  19. Remove O-ring seal (35). Remove large plug (36) and the O-ring seal. Remove five small plugs (37) and the O-ring seals. Remove spring (40), spool (39) and spring (38) from actuator (33). The disassembly is identical for both actuators.

  20. Remove stem (41).

    ------ WARNING! ------

    Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.

    Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.

    Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.


  21. Place the actuator housing in a suitable press, as shown. Put enough pressure on retainer (45) in order to relieve the spring force on retaining ring (46).

  22. Remove retaining ring (46).

  23. Slowly release the pressure on the retainer.

  24. Remove retaining ring (46) and retainer (45). Remove spring (44) and spring (43).

  25. Remove two O-ring seals (42).
