Personal injury or death can result from sudden machine movement. Sudden movement of the machine can cause injury to persons on or near the machine. To prevent injury or death, make sure that the area around the machine is clear of personnel and obstructions before operating the machine. |
Note: Perform the Relief Valve (Charge) - Test and Adjust and the Relief Valve (Piston Pump) - Test and Adjust before you conduct the Flushing Valve (Drum Prople Motor) - Test.
- Install 4C-6500 Digital Thermometer into the hydraulic oil tank. Start the engine and run the engine at high idle until the hydraulic oil reaches 38 °C (100 °F).
- Stop the machine. Apply the parking brake. Make sure that the propel control lever is in neutral.
- In order to hold the front frame and the rear frame rigid, install the steering frame lock pin.
- Block the front drum and the rear tires securely.
- Remove the right side panel in order to gain access to the connector for the brake solenoid.
- Disconnect the electrical connector for the parking brake (1). This allows the parking brake to stay applied during the test.
Note: Do not run the machine against the brake for more than five seconds.

- Move the speed selection switch to the HIGH SPEED position.
- Start the engine. Run the engine at high idle with the propel lever in the NEUTRAL position. Record the pressure on the gauge at test port (4). In the NEUTRAL position, the gauge should read charge pressure.
- Slowly move the propel lever in the FORWARD direction until the pressure gauge at port (4) reads 10340 kPa (1500 psi). Record the pressure on the gauge at port (5) .
Note: Do not move the propel lever in the REVERSE position. You will damage the gauge.
- Subtract the pressure in step 12 from the pressure in step 11. The difference in pressure should be 310 ± 138 kPa (45 ± 20 psi).
- Shut the engine off.
- Connect a 8T-0861 Pressure Gauge to the test port (6) .

- Subtract the pressure in step 19 from the pressure in step 18. The difference in pressure should be 310 ± 138 kPa (45 ± 20 psi). If the pressures are not in tolerance, replace the relief cartridge (8) in the flushing valve.
- Connect the electrical connector for the parking brake (1). Remove all tooling.
