950G Wheel Loader, 962G Wheel Loader and IT62G Integrated Toolcarrier Steering System Caterpillar

System Pressure - Release

Usage:

950G 2JS

------ WARNING! ------

Sudden movement of the machine or release of oil under pressure can cause injury to persons on or near the machine.

To prevent possible injury, perform the procedure that follows before testing and adjusting the steering system.

----------------------

  1. Park the machine on a dry, hard, level surface that is free of debris. Engage the parking brake. Lower the implement to the ground. Stop the engine.

  1. Install the steering frame lock (1), as shown.

  1. . Put blocks in front of the wheels and behind the wheels.

  1. To release any brake oil pressure, depress the brake pedal repeatedly. To release any steering oil pressure, move the steering control through all travel positions several times in both directions.

  1. Turn the engine start key into the ON position. Do not start the engine. Move the implement controls in all directions several times. Turn the engine start key into the OFF position. This will relieve all pressure in the implement lines.

  1. To release all remaining pressure in the hydraulic oil tank, hold down the plunger (2) on the breaker relief valve. The breaker relief valve is located on the top of the hydraulic oil tank. The hydraulic oil tank is located on the right side of the machine.

Note: The pressure in the hydraulic oil tank may also be released by slowly loosening the filler cap. Make sure that the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
