The following procedure defines the steps for adjustment of the governor control linkage.
Note: All rod dimensions are measured from the center of one rod end to the center of the other rod end in a straight line.
Note: Governor control (7) will be vertical in the SHUT OFF position.
- Set governor control (7) to the HIGH IDLE position.
- Adjust rod assembly (1) to a length of 485 ± 3 mm (19.1 ± 0.1 inch).
- Adjust rod assembly (2) to a length of 171 ± 3 mm (6.7 ± 0.1 inch).
- Adjust link assembly (3) to a length of 371 ± 3 mm (14.6 ± 0.1 inch).
- Adjust rod assembly (4) to a length of 350 ± 3 mm (13.8 ± 0.1 inch).
- Adjust rod assembly (5) to a length of 915 ± 3 mm (36.0 ± 0.1 inch).
- Set governor control (7) to the SHUT OFF (vertical) position.
- Adjust dimension (A) for the pedal to 240 ± 10 mm (9.5 ± 0.4 inch).
- Move the pedal to the HIGH IDLE position and adjust screw (6) to stop against the dash wall.
