Installation Procedure

1. Inspect O-ring seal (6) on spacer (5) for wear or damage. If the O-ring seal is worn or damaged, replace the O-ring seal.

2. Put O-ring seal (6) in position on spacer (5) .

3. Put spacer (5) in position on the engine.

4. Inspect O-ring seal (4) on spacer (5) for wear or damage. If the O-ring seal is worn or damaged, replace the O-ring seal.

5. Put O-ring seal (4) in position on spacer (5) .

6. Put water pump (3) in position on the engine.

7. Install nuts (2) that fasten water pump (3) to the engine. Tighten nuts (2) to a torque of 22 N·m (16 lb ft).

8. Connect hose (1) to water pump (3) .

9. Install the radiator hose and fill the cooling system with coolant to the correct level. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Refill Capacities" topic for more information.

10. Put the V-belt in position on the engine. Slide the alternator away from the engine and tighten the bolts for the alternator.
