Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |

Removal of the plug and stopper (2) will damage stopper (2). If you remove the stopper you must replace stopper (2) . |
|
- Use a hammer and a punch to remove the plug out of stopper (2) .
- Use a drill at slow speed and a 12.7 mm (0.50 inch) drill bit in order to remove stopper (2) from the shaft.
- Remove lock ring (3) and end collar (1) from both sides of the track roller.

Note: If you plan to reuse the Duo-Cone seals, make sure that you put identification marks on the seals. This will ensure that the seals are assembled and installed in the original positions.
- Remove Duo-Cone seal assembly (4) from end collar (1) .

- Use Tooling (A) to remove retaining ring (5) from rim assembly (6) .
- Repeat Step 5 for the opposite side.

- Use a press and roller shaft (7) to remove the bushing assembly on the opposite side.

- Flip the roller assembly by 180 degrees. Use a press and roller shaft (7) to remove the remaining bushing assembly.

- Remove O-ring seals (8) from roller shaft (7) .
