Installation Procedure

1. Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

2. Place the check valve through the access hole onto the mounting bracket on the chassis. Install two bolts (21), the nuts, and the washers that secure steering check valve (8) to the chassis.

3. Position hydraulic hoses (18) on the check valve. Install eight bolts (19), the washers and four half flanges (20) that secure hydraulic hoses to the check valve. Secure reusable strap (17) around the hydraulic hoses.

4. Position bottom access panel (16) on the chassis. Install four bolts (15) and the washers that secure the bottom access panel to the chassis.

5. Connect control valve (14) to the check valve. Tighten retaining nut (13).

6. Connect sensor (12) to the fitting. Tighten retaining nut (11). Connect hose (10) to the fitting. Tighten retaining nut (9).

7. Position hydraulic hose (7) on check valve (8). Install four bolts (5), the washers, and two half flanges (6) that secure the hydraulic hose to the check valve.

8. Position top access panel (4) on the chassis. Install two bolts (3) and the washers that secure the top access panel to the chassis.

9. Install seven bolts (1) and hydraulic tank cover (2) to the machine.

10. Disengage the hood latch under the engine hood. Close the engine hood.
