Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Install the truck body retaining cable. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Truck Body Retaining Cable - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.

The space between the body and the frame becomes a zero clearance area when the body is lowered. Failure to install the retaining cable can result in injury or death to personnel working in this area.

1. Use Tool (A) and a suitable lifting device in order to support the front hood panel.

2. Remove six bolts (2) and six washers (3).

3. Remove front hood panel (1). The front hood panel weighs approximately 45 kg (99.2 lb).

4. Use Tool (A) and a suitable lifting device in order to support the rear hood panel.

5. Remove six bolts (5) and six washers (6).

6. Remove rear hood panel (4). The rear hood panel weighs approximately 40 kg (88.2 lb).

Installation Procedure

1. Use Tool (A) and a suitable lifting device in order to support the rear hood panel.

2. Install rear hood panel (4). The rear hood panel weighs approximately 40 kg (88.2 lb).

3. Install six washers (6) and six bolts (5).

4. Use Tool (A) and a suitable lifting device in order to support the front hood panel.

5. Install front hood panel (1). The front hood panel weighs approximately 45 kg (99.2 lb).

6. Install six washers (3) and six bolts (2).

End By:

1. Disconnect the retaining cable. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Truck Body Retaining Cable - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
