D250E Series II and D300E Series II Articulated Trucks Machine Systems Caterpillar

Installation Procedure

1. Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

2. Locate the access hole on the left side of the chassis. Use two persons to place electric drive pump (20) through the access hole onto the chassis. The approximate weight of the drive pump is 25 kg (55 lb).

3. Locate four bolts (19) directly under the secondary steering pump under the chassis. Install the four bolts to the base of the secondary steering pump.

4. Install bottom access panel (18) under the chassis. Install four bolts (17) and the washers to the chassis.

5. Pull back terminal boot (16). Install the electrical connector on the wire to the positive terminal. Install the nut to the terminal stud on the secondary steering pump. Cover the terminal stud and the nut with the terminal boot.

6. Install ground strap (15) to the secondary steering pump. Install nut (13) to the ground terminal (14) on the secondary steering pump.

7. Install hydraulic hose and tighten retaining nut (12). Install hydraulic hose and tighten retaining nut (11).

8. Install hydraulic hose (10) and tighten retaining nut (9). Install hydraulic hose (8) and tighten retaining nut (7). Install hydraulic hose (6) and tighten retaining nut (5).

9. Install side access panel (4) to the left side of the chassis. Install five bolts (3) and the washers to the chassis.

10. Install seven bolts (1) and cover (2) to the hydraulic tank.

11. Release the hood latch. Close the engine hood.
