Usage:
Problem:
The PS-360B Pneumatic Compactor may seem underpowered when fully ballasted in some compaction applications. The applications referred to may include working on steep grades, or on lesser grades in thick lifts where the machine sinks further into the material and rolling resistance increases substantially. In these applications if the propel lever is pushed into the full forward or reverse position, the engine may bog down. If the lever is left in the full stroke position the engine RPM may continue to drop and the engine RPM may continue to drop and the engine may stall.
Solution:
When the machine is used in these applications, if the propel lever is feathered back from the full forward position, it will reduce propel system flow and pressure resulting in less horsepower draw from the engine and maintain the engine RPM. The machine is then capable of maintaining a higher rate of speed.
