Adjustable Mounting Arrangement And Flexible Coupling For Hydraulic Pump Available {5062}

Usage:


RT50 (5PF, 4XG) RT50SA (8DJ),
RT60 (5DG),
RTC60 (5PF, 4XG) Telehandlers

Description of Change: An adjustable mounting arrangement for the hydraulic pump is available for the above machines. The adjustable mounting arrangement allows accurate alignment of the hydraulic pump with the engine crankshaft. A flexible coupling is also available. The flexible coupling has a longer service life.

Adaptable To: The adjustable mounting arrangement and flexible coupling is adaptable to the above machines.

Installation Procedure

Wear proper eye and body protection when working around hydraulic lines or hoses. At operating temperature the implement hydraulic oil is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns.

1. Remove the hydraulic pump.

2. Remove and discard pump mounting bracket (4), engine mounting brackets (3), coupling (2), and adapter (1). Retain the bracket mounting hardware and engine mounts (5). See Illustration 1.

3. Install 8I-5474 Engine Mounting Bracket (6) and 8I-5475 Engine Mounting Bracket (7) to the engine block using the original hardware. See Illustration 2.

NOTE: 5P-3413 Pipe Sealant must be used on the threads when installing the original hardware.

Make sure the 8I-5474 and 8I-5475 Engine Mounting Brackets are level. The four bolts should be tighten to a torque of 70 N·m (50 lb ft).

4. Attach the 8I-5474 and 8I-5475 Engine Mounting Brackets to the frame using the original hardware and mounts. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 90 N·m (65 lb ft).

NOTE: Inspect the mounts and replace as necessary.

5. Install the 8I-6621 or 8I-5890 Adapter (8) to the engine pulley using 8T-6868 Bolts (9). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 70 N·m (50 lb ft). See Illustration 3.

6. Install the 8I-5889 Coupling (10) with 0T-0244 Screws (11). Tighten the screws to a torque of 14 N·m (10 lb ft). See Illustration 3.

7. Install the 8I-5888 Hub (12) into 8I-5889 Coupling.

8. Install the 8I-5470 Pump Mounting Bracket (14) using 8T-5868 Bolts (13), 6D-9081 Washers (15), 6S-6251 Mounts (16), 8T-4223 Washers (19), and 8T-4244 Nuts (20). See Illustration 4.

9. Use 8I-5478 Shims (17), 8I-5479 Shims (18), and 8I-5480 Shims (19) as required so the hydraulic pump can be installed with the pump shaft engaged into the 8I-5888 Hub (12). The 8I-5889 Coupling (10) must not be distorted. When Aligned, tighten the original mounting bracket hardware to a torque of 90 N·m (65 lb ft).

10. Tighten the pump mounting bolts (bracket to pump) to a torque of 70 N·m (50 lb ft).

11. Tighten the 8 can be installed with the pump shaft engaged into the 8I-4957 Screw (11) in the 8 can be installed with the pump shaft engaged into the 8I-5888 Hub (12) to a torque of 83 N·m (62 lb ft). See Illustration 3.
