References listed above feature an illustration of VIMS (Vital Information Management System) gauge cluster module and an individual description of the four gauges contained within the cluster. Located in the upper right hand corner of the VIMS gauge cluster module is the brake temperature indicator. Additional information listed below concerning the brake temperature indicator may help to provide a better understanding of the system.
Current VIMS configurations continuously monitor all brake temperatures and in the event of a brake temperature overheat an event will be displayed on the message center, then recorded. However, in the VIMS gauge cluster module, ONLY the right rear brake temperature is displayed to the operator and thus should be used only as a general indicator of overall brake temperatures.
Effective with 785B (6HK), 789B (7EK), 793B (1HL) and 793C (4AR) Off-Highway Trucks equipped with VIMS.
