Description of Change: A new lip seal with a metal case is used in the front suspension groups. The metal case of the lip seal provides better retention of the lip seal in the housing.
Better retention of the lip seal helps to prevent the lip seal from being forced out of the housing when pressure builds up behind the lip seal.
Adaptable To: The new 9X-7333 Lip Seal is effective with following suspension groups and machines:
7J-3480 Suspension Group (Eng. Chg. 20) and 8J-2322 Suspension Group (Eng. Chg. 18) are used on 772 (10S, 11S, 80S) Off-Highway Tractors, and 773 (63G) Off-Highway Trucks.
7J-8286 Suspension Group (Eng. Chg. 18) is used on 768B (79S) Off-Highway Tractors, 769 (99F), and 769B (99F) Off-Highway Trucks.
NOTE: An engineering change number (Eng. Chg.) indicates effectivity of this improvement or adaptability to previous cylinder groups. The cylinder group part number, engineering change number, and date of manufacture are found on the cylinder group tag.
The new 9X-7333 Lip Seal is adaptable to 7J-3480 Suspension Group (Eng. Chgs 00-19), 7J-8286 Suspension Group (Eng. Chgs 00-17), and 8J-2322 Suspension Group (Eng. Chgs. 1-17).
