Correct Length Specified For Bolts In Metering Pumps{4312}

Usage:

426C (1CR, 1MR),
436C (1FR, 1PR),
438C (1JR, 1TR) Backhoe Loaders

Incorrect part numbers and lengths are specified, in some service publications, for bolts used with the 142-7539 Metering Pump and the 142-7549 Metering Pump. See the Illustration for correct part numbers, lengths, and tightening sequence of bolts for both metering pumps.

Correct Length and Tightening Sequence for Bolts

(A) 142-7539 Metering Pump used on 438C (1JR, 1TR) Backhoe Loaders.

(1) 8T-2313 Bolt. 40.0 mm (1.57 in) Long.

(3) 8T-2317 Bolt. 40.0 mm (1.57 in) Long with pin hole in end.

(5) 8T-2276 Spring Pin.

(B) 142-7549 Metering Pump used on 426C (1CR, 1MR), and 436C (1FR, 1PR) Backhoe Loaders.

(2) 8T-2314 Bolt. 45.0 mm (1.77 in) Long.

(4) 8T-2318 Bolt. 45.0 mm (1.77 in) Long with pin hole in end.

(C) Tightening sequence:

Tighten all seven bolts, dry, in sequence T1-T7, to a torque of 14 ± 3 N·m (10 ± 2 lb ft) and then, in the same sequence, to a final torque of 28 ± 3 N·m (21 ± 2 lb ft).
