Solenoid Cartridge May Rattle When Shaken {3073}

Usage:

928F (2XL1-UP, 8AK1-UP) Wheel Loaders IT28F (1JL1-UP, 3CL1-UP) Integrated Toolcarriers

Reference: SENR5975; Systems Operation Testing & Adjusting IT28F Power Train; Testing & Adjusting; Troubleshooting; Solenoid Test, Page 55, Note:, and SENR5994; Systems Operation Testing & Adjusting 928F Power Train; Testing and Adjusting; Troubleshooting; Solenoid Test, Page 55, Note:.

"Note:" on page 55 of both manuals, SENR5975 and SENR5994, is as follows: "Note: If the solenoid cartridge rattles when shaken, it is no good. The spring which seats the plunger is weak or broken."

This is incorrect. The note is talking about the 100-4915 Cartridge Assembly. The cartridge assembly is designed to allow the coil to move inside the unit when shaken. The coil moving inside the cartridge produces the rattling noise.

When working on the transmission control solenoid valves for the 910E, 910F, 918F, and 924F Wheel Loaders and the IT18F and IT24F Integrated Toolcarriers, the 3E-6267 Cartridge Assembly can not rattle when it is shaken.
