Machine Flash Software (Non-Engine Software) Ordered Through The Parts Distribution System Is Now Available Through The Corporate Mail Box

--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------

Machine flash software is now available from Parts Distribution via the Corporate Mail Box. The mailbox system is a utility designed to make software Flash Files easily available. This system is a stand-alone system and is not part of the "Caterpillar Network System".

How To Get Access To The Corporate Mailbox

1. Dealers must purchase the communication software called HyperACCESS 5.0 for DOS. This can be purchased either through your local software supplier or through the Morton Literature System. The phone number for the Morton Literature System is 1-800-566-7782. The software document number is LERQ3133. Dealers who currently use the Flash system already have the HyperACCESS software but will now need to convert to the new Flash system (go directly to the next step).

2. Call the Caterpillar EDI Helpline at 1-800-435-7334 or 1-309-675-0834. Press option 7 on the call distribution menu. Inform the customer service representative that you are interested in converting to the new Flash system. The helpline will set up your HyperACCESS program to access the Caterpillar Mailbox System and will assist with any problems.

3. The dealer will need to have a mailbox defined for them on the Corporate Mailbox System. This process requires the following information.

A. Dealer Code
B. Dealer Name
C. Mailing Address
D. Contact Name
E. Contact Phone Number

Once the mailbox is set up, when ordering Flash files through the parts distribution system the dealer can opt for the file to be sent on diskette or to the mailbox. Software orders entered with an "F" in the subheader will be sent via diskette and orders entered with an "E" in the subheader will be sent via the corporate mailbox. Dealers entering orders with an "E" in the subheader who are not established on the corporate mailbox system will receive the message "No unsecured mailbox specified for this customer code" and will not be able to complete the order.

NOTE: Only current production software is available on the Caterpillar Corporate Mailbox. The Mailbox is updated monthly.
