Wiper Arm Retaining Nut Requires Tightening After Initial Operation {7305}

Usage:

824G (4SN) Wheel Tractors;
825G (6RN) Soil Compactors;
826G (7LN) Landfill Compactors;
980G (2KR, 9CM, 2SR) Wheel Loaders

Machines using cab window wiper systems may require a re-torque of the wiper arm retaining nuts after early operation of the cab window wipers.

The assembly process has now been modified in production, but a post-production re-torque may be required. The wiper arm retaining nuts should be tightened after a minimum of one half hour to a maximum of four hours operation. This is necessary to assure that the wiper arm does not loosen and strip the threads on the wiper arm head casting. The recommended torque for this procedure is 24 ± 1 N·m (18 ± 1 lb ft).
