Tensioner Group Pin May Be Difficult To Remove{4197}

Usage:

Challenger 65 &
65B (7YC),
Challenger 65C (2ZJ),
Challenger 70C (2YL),
Challenger 75 (4CJ),
Challenger 75C (4KK),
Challenger 85C (9TK) Agricultural Tractors

During service, the 8R-1693 Pin Assembly is difficult to remove. Often, the pin must be driven or cut out since there is no means to use a puller. Pin removal can be aided by the use of a 8T-7792 Mini Torch. This mini torch is the prefered tool for shrinking stuck pins to enable quick removal.

Antiseize material is now being applied to the pin and bore at the factory. When servicing the pin, apply antiseize material to the pin and bore before assembly to insure ease of pin removal next time service is required.

This applies to the 3W-5059 Tensioner Group for Challenger 65 & 65B (7YC) and Challenger 75 (4CJ) Agricultural Tractors and to the 9U-1844 Tensioner Group for Challenger 65C (2ZJ), 70C (2YL), 75C (4KK), and 85C (9TK) Agricultural Tractors.
