When the 3T-0052 Sleeve Bearing is replaced during transmission rebuild the parts replacement bearing must be finished to the proper inside diameter after it has been installed in the piston. See illustration and chart.

The newly installed bearing must be finished by boring, burnishing or sanding to the size shown in the illustration. The inside diameter surface texture must be 1.6 micrometers (63 microinches) or smoother. All abrasive residue must be removed.

If this procedure is not followed, bearing damage or failure could occur.

When a new balance piston assembly (3T-0053 or 6Y-2981) is installed the new bearing (correctly sized) is part of the assembly.
