A new test procedure should be used to check the parking brake. The new procedure is a static test and will not cause damage to the parking brake discs. The former test for the parking brake could cause premature wear and/or damage to the transmission and parking brake components.
1. Position the machine on dry, hard ground that has a 20 percent slope.
2. Put the transmission in Neutral and engage the parking brake.
3. The wheels should not rotate. If they rotate, the parking brake has damage and will have to be repaired.
