New Water Pump Assembly Used In Water Spray Group{6609}

Usage:

CB-434 ( 3TF ) Vibratory Compactors

Description of Change: A new water spray pump assembly is used in the water spray group. The pump provides improved service life and reliability.

Adaptable To: The new 6R2383 Water Pump Assembly replaces the former 7R0628 Water Pump Assembly in the water spray group. Two water pump assemblies are used in each compactor. The new pump is in effect with CB-434 Vibratory Compactor 3TF145.

The new 6R2383 Water Pump Assembly, a 1G5379 Angle, and a 7R2850 Plate can be used as a direct replacement for the former 7R0628 Water Pump Assembly in all earlier compactors. Two new pumps, two new angles, and two new plates are required to replace both former pumps on each compactor. Use the procedure that follows to replace the former water pump with a new water pump.

1. Weld 7R2850 Plate (1) to 1G5379 Angle (2) as shown in Illustration 1.

2. Thoroughly clean the compactor the area around the water pump that is to be replaced.

3. Turn off the water supply valve just before the water filter. Disconnect the existing tubes that are connected to the water spray pump (tie line, spray bar supply line, filtered water supply line). Disconnect the electrical connection from the water pump. Remove the former water pump.

4. Weld plate (1) and angle (2) (from Step 1) to the drum support as shown in Illustration 1.

5. Install 6R4076 Elbows on new water pump (6). New elbow (8) on the pump inlet should point straight down and new elbow (5) on the pump outlet should point straight up. See Illustration 2.

6. Use the existing clamp to fasten existing hose (7) from the filter to new elbow (8) on the inlet of the new pump.

7. Install new hose (4) on new elbow (5). Route new hose (4) over the new pump. Install 1P4278 Clamp (9) to hold hose (4) in position.

8. Install 5P4412 Tee (10) on hose (4) just after clamp (9). Cut tie line (11) and spray bar line (3) to length and install on tee (10).

9. Connect electrical connector to the new water pump. Turn the water supply valve on and test to ensure correct operation of the new water pump.
